Getting started

Every tool follows the same three moves: choose a file (click the upload area or drag a file onto it), set your options (order, quality, pages, password — whatever the tool needs), and download the result. There is no account to create, nothing to install, and no watermark on the output. Your original file is never modified — every tool writes a new file and leaves yours alone.

The tools run in your web browser on your own device. Your file is not uploaded to a server, which is why processing starts instantly even for large files, and why the tools keep working on a poor connection once the page has loaded. Each tool's page explains what it does, when to use it, and its limits — the answer to most "can it do X?" questions is on the tool's own page.

Common problems and fixes

"This file is password protected"

An encrypted PDF must be unlocked before any other tool can work on it. If you know the password, open the Protect / Unlock tool, remove the password, and then run the tool you wanted. If you do not know the password, no legitimate tool can help — encryption without the password is unreadable by design.

Extract returned no text

The document is almost certainly a scan: a photograph of a page, with no text layer inside. Extraction reads the text a PDF actually contains — recognising words in a picture requires OCR, which is a different operation. A quick test: if you cannot select text in your PDF viewer, extraction will not find any either.

Compression barely shrank my file

Compression works by re-encoding images, so a file that is mostly text — or one that has already been compressed — has little left to give. This is a property of the file, not a fault in the tool. The Compress page explains which documents shrink dramatically and which will not.

Processing is slow or the tab feels stuck

The work happens on your own device, so speed depends on your hardware, the file's size and the settings you chose — a 300-DPI render of a 200-page document is heavy work anywhere. Give it a moment, close other heavy tabs, or lower the quality/DPI setting. If the tab truly hangs, reload the page and try again; nothing is lost, since your original file is untouched.

The download didn't appear

Check whether your browser blocked the download — most browsers show an icon in the address bar when they do. Allow downloads for this site and run the tool again. Files also land in your browser's default downloads folder, which is easy to overlook on a phone.

My image won't upload to Images to PDF

That tool accepts JPG and PNG. Phone photos in HEIC format need converting first — most phones can export or share a photo as JPG. Screenshots are already PNG and work directly.

Privacy questions

The question we get most: do you see my files? No. The browser-based tools process your document on your device and never transmit it. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools by watching the Network tab while a tool runs.
