PDF Tools uses a deliberately small number of cookies. None of them are needed for the browser-based tools to work — you can block all of them and still merge, split, or compress a PDF.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It can be read back on later visits, which lets a site remember a preference or lets an advertising network recognise a browser across sites. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — do comparable things, and this policy covers them too.

Our content delivery and security provider may set essential cookies to route your request, maintain connection security, and identify abusive traffic. These cannot be switched off without breaking access to the site, and they are not used for advertising or profiling.
Advertising cookies (third party)
This site is funded by advertising. What we do not use
We do not set our own analytics, tracking, or profiling cookies, and we do not use cookies to store anything about the documents you process. Your files are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and are not associated with any cookie.
Your choices
- Personalised ads: turn these off for your Google account at Google Ads Settings. You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
- Industry opt-outs: manage many vendors at once at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- Browser controls: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies specifically. See the privacy or security settings in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. Blocking third-party cookies is a good general default and will not break this site.
- Consent banner: where required by law — for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland — a consent message is presented before non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choice through that message.

If we or our partners change which cookies are used, we will update this page and its revision date.
